The Jesus we serve matters.
Not the version shaped by culture.
Not the one reduced to slogans or symbols.
Not the Jesus we only talk about.
But the real Jesus—the One who calls us into relationship, obedience, and transformation.
Jesus gave one of the most sobering warnings in Scripture:
“I never knew you.”
— Matthew 7:23
Those words were not spoken to atheists or unbelievers.
They were spoken to people who claimed His name.
When Religion Replaces Relationship
Many will say they believed.
Many will say they served.
Many will say they did good works.
But Jesus didn’t say, “You didn’t know enough.”
He said, “I never knew you.”
They practiced religion—
but they never walked in relationship.
They knew facts about Jesus,
but they didn’t know His heart.
They spoke His name,
but they didn’t do His will.
What Jesus Is Looking For
Jesus isn’t looking for perfect people.
He’s looking for surrendered hearts.
“Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of My Father who is in heaven.”
— Matthew 7:21
Knowing Jesus means:
- Trusting Him, not just acknowledging Him
- Following Him, not just admiring Him
- Obeying Him, not just invoking His name
Relationship produces fruit.
Faith shows itself in obedience.
Love responds with surrender.
A Question Worth Asking
So the question isn’t simply:
Do you believe in Jesus?
The deeper question is:
Do you know Him—and does He know you?
Are we walking with Christ daily,
seeking His heart,
aligning our lives with His will?
Or are we comfortable with religion, tradition, and outward appearances?
The Invitation Is Still Open
This message isn’t meant to terrify—it’s meant to wake us up.
Jesus doesn’t warn us to push us away.
He warns us to draw us closer.
God didn’t call us into a system.
He called us into a relationship—
as children with their Father.
To know Jesus is to love what He loves.
To desire what He desires.
To live in step with His Spirit.
This is Real Talk.
This is self-examination that leads to life.
This is the call to truly know Christ.
